Navratri 

Navratri holds great importance in Hindu culture. It signifies nine days and nights dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga. Devotees perform prayers to Maa Durga and observe fasting for nine consecutive days during Navratri. Navratri occurs four times a year, including Chaitra Navratri and Shardiya Navratri. Additionally, there are two Gupta Navratri celebrations during the months of Magha and Ashadha.

Maa Siddhidatri | माँ सिद्धिदात्री

The name Siddhidatri is made with two parts: "Siddhi," which means Perfection, and "Datri," which means the one who gives. This is why she is known as Maa Siddhidatri because she bestows various Siddhis or Perfections upon her devotees.

Kalratri or KaalRatri, which translates to "Kaal (Death) of Ratri (Night or darkness)" signifies her role in combating darkness and all forms of negativity. She is revered as the one who overcomes time and death. Her name, "Kal Ratri," signifies her association with the deepest darkness of night. She dispels the darkness of ignorance, ultimately guiding individuals toward salvation.

Maa Katyayani is considered one of the fiercest manifestations of Goddess Durga. Maa Katyayani is renowned for vanquishing the demon king Mahishasura, earning her the title of Mahishasurmardini. Katyayani is often depicted riding a lion, with four hands that hold a lotus flower and sword on the left side and display Abhaya and Varada Mudras on the right. She is revered as the destroyer of evil.

In the compilation of Hanuman Chalisa, there is a verse that describes Lord Hanuman as the "Ashta Siddhi Nav Nidhi ke Data" that means "Granter of the Eight Super Powers and Nine Divine Treasures" to those who worship him with unwavering dedication. The siddhis talked about in the couplet are very miraculous powers and all these eight siddhis are given to Hanuman ji (11 incarnations of Lord Shiva) as a boon.

Ghatasthapana puja is a significant ritual at the onset of Navratri, marking the beginning of the nine-day festival. There are specific rules and guidelines outlined in our scriptures for performing Ghatasthapana during a particular time frame. It is crucial to adhere to these guidelines to invoke Goddess Shakti correctly, as performing it at the wrong time may incur the wrath of the goddess. Ghatasthapana should not be conducted during Amavasya (new moon) or at night.
